25 copy-paste styles for pin titles, descriptions, board names and your bio — plus why Pinterest is the riskiest platform to style.
These styles are Unicode characters that look like fonts, not real formatting. Screen readers announce them one character at a time by their full Unicode name, so a fully styled post is unreadable to anyone using one — and search engines and in-app search cannot match them as words. Use them for a name, a heading or one emphasised phrase, and keep the text you want found or read aloud in plain characters.
More than any other platform here, Pinterest runs on keyword matching. Pin titles, descriptions and board names are all indexed as plain text, and styled characters simply don't match. Styling a pin title is the fastest way to make a pin undiscoverable. This is the one platform where we'd tell you to leave the important fields alone.
Your display name and bio do far less search work than your pins do. A styled display name is low-risk and gets you the visual distinctiveness people are usually after. Board names sit in between — they are indexed, so weigh it.
Pinterest offers no typeface control. Every “font generator” substitutes look-alike characters from Unicode's mathematical alphabets, which is why they survive copy-paste — and why search can't read them as words.
Video pins get meaningfully more distribution than static ones. Teleprompter.com scrolls your script while you record so you can present to camera cleanly. Free on iOS, Android, Mac and the web.
No. Pinterest is fundamentally a search engine and pin titles are its strongest keyword signal. Styled characters aren't matched as the words they resemble, so a styled title removes the pin from the searches it should appear in. Style your display name instead.
Type your text above, tap a style to copy it, then paste it into Pinterest → Settings → Edit profile → About. Your bio does less search work than your pins, so it's a much safer place to experiment.
You can paste them, but board names are indexed and contribute to how Pinterest categorises your content. A styled board name loses that. If you want the visual effect, consider a plain keyword name with one styled character as a divider.
The mathematical alphabets render reliably on both. The circled and squared styles come from the emoji block and can look different between mobile and desktop — the badge on each style flags which ones are affected.
100 characters for the title and 500 for the description, though only the first 30 to 50 characters of a title reliably show in the feed. The counter above tracks each field as you type.
