Frame rate can be set on the iOS, macOS, Android and web browser versions. Stabilisation is available on iOS, macOS and Android.
Both sit in the same menu as your resolution setting, so it is worth deciding on all three together before a shoot.
Where to find them
- Open the Teleprompter.com app.
- Go to the Scripts panel and tap the script you want to use.
- Tap the button in the top right corner and switch to video recording mode.
- Tap the camera icon in the bottom-left corner.
- Choose your Frame Rate and your Stabilization option from the settings in this menu.

Which frame rate should you choose?
The app offers 24, 25, 30, 50, 60 and 120 fps. In short:
- 30 fps — the safe default for talking-head video, and what most social platforms expect.
- 25 fps — the broadcast standard across Europe and other PAL regions. Use it if your footage is going to a broadcaster or into an edit built at 25.
- 24 fps — the traditional cinema frame rate, for a slightly more filmic feel.
- 50 and 60 fps — noticeably smoother motion. Good if you move around, gesture a lot, or demonstrate a product in your hands.
- 120 fps — only worth it if you plan to slow the footage down in an edit. Played at a quarter speed, 120 fps still runs smoothly at 30.
Higher frame rates mean bigger files and more work for your device, especially alongside 4K, so do not reach for 60 or 120 unless the shot genuinely needs it.
Stabilisation: on for handheld, off on a tripod
Stabilisation smooths out shake by cropping into the frame very slightly and shifting the image around inside that crop. That trade-off is what should decide your setting:
- Off — best on a tripod or a stand. Nothing is moving, so you keep the full width of the frame and the widest field of view.
- Standard — the right choice for handheld filming, or a phone propped somewhere it might get knocked.
- Cinematic — stronger smoothing for walking-and-talking shots, at the cost of a slightly tighter crop.
Depending on your device, this menu may also list Auto and extended Cinematic options alongside the three above.
On the web browser version
In the browser, frame rate and resolution are chosen together from the HD icon on the recording screen, as combinations such as 1080p30 and 1080p24. Stabilisation is not offered in the browser.
